Honest-to-Goodness Chocolate Chip Cookies

AP tests are OVER!!!

I deserve some chocolate-chip cookies.

Honest-to-Goodness Chocolate Chip Cookies
Nothing fancy or exotic going on in here. Just seriously good chocolate chip cookies. Makes about 2 dozen cookies.

Ingredients:
1 cup butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated (white) sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 egg
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2-3 cups* chocolate chips (milk chocolate if you like the good stuff)
*(I wonder as they even bothered putting the low end of that range, but I'm just staying faithful to the recipe here ;) )

Instructions:
0. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees (325 for a dark pan).
1. Cream the butter, both sugars, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add the egg and mix to incorporate. Add in the salt and baking soda. Fold in the flour gradually, 1/2 cup to a cup at a time. Mix in the chocolate chips.
2. Form into balls, lay straight onto a cookie sheet and bake for about 15 minutes (until they start browning around the edges...but not until they harden in the oven). You can also freeze the cookie dough balls, which then can be used for A) cookie-dough ice cream B) freezer-raiding or C) low-work fresh cookies whenever you feel the need!!!

The dough is so easy I didn't event take pictures of the process. Here's the final dough; I had to mix in the chocolate chips by hand because they were overflowing my mixer!

If (when) you have leftover dough, just form balls and cram them onto another cookie sheet lined with aluminum foil. You can pop that straight into the freezer and the next day, once the balls have solidified, remove them to a plastic bag.
